The School of St. Elizabeth’s after-school Athletics Program is an integral part of the School’s mission. It is designed to develop a young person’s mind and body, while nurturing character and teaching responsibility through participation in a variety of team sports. Our program offers sports that are age-appropriate, challenging, and integrate competition with the personal and spiritual growth of the child.
All students in Grades 3 – 8 are invited to participate in the Athletics Program.
Our school parents serve as volunteer coaches in the program. Students in each grade are challenged and motivated by their volunteer coaches to achieve their personal best, while learning the responsibilities of being part of a team. Our coaches focus on the development of the whole child, including personal characteristics of responsibility, leadership, teamwork, goal setting, cooperation, fitness and emotional maturity.
St. Elizabeth is committed to continuing to offer a modified after-school athletics program for 2020-21 that maximizes participation to re-engage student-athletes for their social, emotional and mental well-being and development, while ensuring the health and safety of all student-athletes during these unprecedented times. The St. Elizabeth administration and volunteer coaches are committed to following and staying abreast of the latest guidelines and rules from the CDC, the New Jersey Department of Health and the Governor’s Executive Orders regarding youth sports and schools. Information about which sports will be offered during 2020-21 and details regarding the modifications will be shared with families throughout the year.
