Accreditations & Academic Excellence

The School of Saint Elizabeth is proud to be accredited by Cognia, a globally recognized organization that ensures schools meet rigorous standards of educational quality and continuous improvement. Our academic program is thoughtfully designed to align with the Diocese of Metuchen guidelines, as well as New Jersey State and national standards, ensuring a strong and well-rounded educational experience for all students.

Our Commitment to Continuous Growth
In partnership with the Diocese of Metuchen, the School of Saint Elizabeth is actively engaged in the Cognia re-accreditation process. This comprehensive review provides an opportunity to reflect on our strengths, analyze data, and identify areas for growth as we strive for excellence in all aspects of school life.

When evaluating schools and school systems, Cognia looks at the whole school, not just test scores. Cognia Accreditation realizes that improving outcomes requires a comprehensive approach. Our school will be re-accredited based on the following achievements in these areas:

  • Mission
  • Governance and Leadership
  • School Improvement Planning
  • Finances
  • Facilities
  • School Organization and Staff
  • Health and Safety
  • Educational Program
  • Assessment and Evidence of Student Learning
  • Student Services
  • Student Life and Activities
  • Information Resources

Following the analysis of our Cognia review data in Fall 2026, the School of Saint Elizabeth will continue a comprehensive long-term Strategic Plan. This plan will serve as a roadmap to guide our continued growth and ensure we remain responsive to the needs of our students, families, and community.

Strategic Priorities
Our Strategic Plan will focus on key areas that support the mission and vision of the School of Saint Elizabeth:

  • Faith-Filled Leadership & Vision – Strengthening our Catholic identity while fostering strong, mission-driven leadership
  • Community & Campus Life – Building a supportive, inclusive, and connected school community
  • Academic Excellence & Innovation – Enhancing instructional practices, integrating technology, and promoting high levels of student achievement

A Strong Network of Support

As a proud member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), the School of Saint Elizabeth is connected to a national network dedicated to excellence in Catholic education. This partnership allows us to:

  • Strengthen our Catholic identity through the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Schools
  • Provide our educators with access to high-quality professional development and research-based instructional practices
  • Advocate for families by supporting school choice and promoting the value of Catholic education nationwide

At the School of Saint Elizabeth, accreditation is more than a designation—it is a commitment to continuous improvement, academic excellence, and the formation of the whole child in faith, knowledge, and service.

Cognia STEM (STREAm) ReCertification

The School of Saint Elizabeth is proud to be recognized as a Cognia STEM-certified (STREAM) school—an honor that reflects our commitment to innovation, excellence, and preparing students for the future.

Cognia STEM Certification is a prestigious distinction awarded to schools that demonstrate a high level of effectiveness in integrating Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics across all areas of learning. This certification process involves a rigorous evaluation of instructional practices, curriculum design, student engagement, and real-world application of knowledge.
At the School of Saint Elizabeth, STREAM education goes beyond traditional classroom instruction. Our students engage in hands-on, problem-based learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. By intentionally incorporating faith into STREAM, we foster not only academic excellence but also moral responsibility, ethical decision-making, and a deeper understanding of God’s presence in all areas of learning.

What It Means to Be STREAM Certified
Achieving Cognia STREAM Certification signifies that the School of Saint Elizabeth:

  • Implements an interdisciplinary approach that connects multiple subject areas in meaningful and engaging ways
  • Provides students with opportunities to solve real-world problems through inquiry, design, and innovation
  • Promotes higher-order thinking skills, creativity, and student ownership of learning
  • Integrates technology purposefully to enhance instruction and deepen understanding
  • Fosters collaboration among students and educators in a dynamic learning environment
  • Aligns curriculum and instruction with rigorous national standards and best practices

A Distinction of Excellence
Cognia STEM (STREAM) Certification is not easily attained. Schools must undergo an in-depth review process that includes evidence-based evaluation, classroom observations, and demonstration of sustained, high-quality instructional practices. This recognition places the School of Saint Elizabeth among a select group of schools nationwide that have met Cognia’s standards for STEM excellence.

Our STREAM Recertification is a testament to our dedicated faculty, engaged students, and supportive community. It reflects our mission to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—while preparing our students to become innovative thinkers, compassionate leaders, and faithful stewards of the world around them.

At the School of Saint Elizabeth, STREAM is not just a program—it is a vibrant, faith-centered approach to learning that inspires curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of discovery.
