Join us for a Parenting Forum on “How to Help Your Child Become More Successful in School” on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Four experts will lead a roundtable discussion in the School of St. Elizabeth Gym from 9-11am.

Guest speakers will be:

Dr. Edward Albert,  superintendent of the Tulpehocken, PA School District and national consultant, will discuss the topic of “Top Ten Things a Parent Can Do to Help Your Child Succeed in School.”  Dr. Albert was a featured speaker at our teacher’s professional development in-service and our HSA meeting last year.

Coach Nick Mariniello, Hudson Catholic Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach, is renowned for bringing Hudson Catholic’s Basketball team to the top of the state rankings. He will speak about the importance of being a scholar first and then an athlete. He will also address the commitment it takes to be a high school and college athlete, emphasizing that grades are the most important.

Ed Agresta is an award-winning educator, lecturer, and coach.  For over 20 years, he has been presenting his special insights into the most powerful techniques available for improving personal motivation, developing peak performance, and allowing listeners to feel good about themselves. Agresta is a fascinating, humorous speaker and a gifted communicator, who has given more than 1,500 presentations to corporations, colleges, high schools, and athletic teams.

Jerry Caputo was the Union City Board of Education Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Personnel. A graduate of Montclair State University, he also holds a Master’s degree from Seton Hall University. He is a teacher, coach and an administrator. Jerry is currently coaching football at Don Bosco Prep, the number one ranked team in the U.S.

This Parenting Forum will be interactive with each speaker offering their expertise and then the audience is welcome to ask questions. Topics about homework and athletics will be designed to provide strategies for parents to do the best job they can to raise their children to become confident, caring, responsible and productive.
