Welcome to the HSA! Every parent is a member of the Home and School Association at St. Elizabeth’s. School parents, energized by the HSA board, organize fundraisers, social & spiritual gatherings, school-wide educational programs and teacher bonus collection. To this end, each family is asked to donate a minimum of 20 volunteer hours* throughout the year. The list below demonstrates the many ways your family can be involved. Please contact the event sponsor directly to learn how you can contribute. They’d love to hear from you! If you have any additional ideas for how you might be involved, or aren’t sure where your unique talents and time can be most helpful, please contact Susan Ziwot or Molly Metzger.Junior High parents treat our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to a delicious brunch, followed by a guest speaker. Held in our cafeteria, the brunch committee welcomes donations of food items, as well as set-up and cleanup help.

TEACHER APPRECIATION MASS AND BONUS FUND
Celebrate our teachers’ hard work and devotion to our children at the Ascension Thursday school mass. Families are asked to prayerfully consider a donation to our teacher appreciation fund, the sole source of funding for teacher bonuses, which we collect starting in April. Our goal is 100% participation of any amount by all school families to show our unwavering support for our teachers.

GRAD NIGHT DINNER & Dance  The families of the graduates gather to celebrate the accomplishments of the children as they prepare to graduate from the School of Saint Elizabeth. After dinner, all Junior High students join the 8th graders for one last dance. Traditionally, our 7th grade families, led by our Junior High coordinator, host this event.

FIELD DAY  This action-packed day is filled with fun games and contests and finished off with a picnic and swimming at The Bernardsville Municipal Pool. Grades 1-7 participate while Grades K and 8 have a special buddy celebration at school.

MONTHLY PARENT MEETINGS SPONSORED BY THE HSA
Parent meetings, sponsored by the HSA, are held monthly and alternate between mornings (8:45am) and evenings (7pm). These meetings give parents an opportunity to learn about what’s happening at the school from Mr. Venezia and the faculty and staff. Parents also get an update from the HSA. Parents are encouraged to ask questions, offer ideas and voice opinions to the school and the HSA. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend monthly meetings.

LUNCH DUTY
All families of children in grades k – 8 supervise a minimum of 3 lunch periods. Volunteers choose their own dates via Volunteer Spot. Families are given the option to opt-out for a fee of $75.00. Anyone absent on an assigned day will be charged $25.00.

CLASSROOM PARENTS
Class parents energize the school at the “local” level. They organize Thanksgiving baskets, class projects for our fundraisers, holiday gifts for teachers, field day chaperones and class room volunteers. They bring together the class families and build community through social events.

TEACHER BREAKFAST
Each grade brings in breakfast type goodies for our teachers to enjoy. Class parents organize parents for the month they are assigned.

LIBRARY ANGELS
Consider helping out in the library. Help is always needed to straighten up and shelve books, decorate for holidays and getting involved with fun things like Battle of the Books and Author Signings.
